Article summary

Service delivery timeframes can vary depending on your order, sample type and complexity of your requested analysis.

Key information
Our average delivery time for a research service is between 5-7 weeks once we have verified that your samples meet our quality requirements to proceed. Our priority, however, is service quality, and sometimes producing the best possible report for your samples takes a bit more than average time. When faster processing is required (for example Genetic ID services and breeding applications), we can reduce the time required to 2-3 weeks.

Please let us know your timeline so that we can incorporate it in our service execution planning.

To give you an example of our process, your samples will proceed through our DArT production pipeline, which consists of five main stages:

  • Quality Control
  • Laboratory Assay
  • Sequencing
  • Marker Data Extraction, and
  • Report Generation.

This pipeline is in continuous operation as we process orders for clients from over 60 countries and involving hundreds of organisms. Once your samples have passed the initial QC step, your order will be allocated a position in the processing schedule.

If we are performing DNA extraction for you, the time from sample arrival until report upload into the Online Ordering system can be slightly longer, depending on the organism involved, order volumes, and the quality of the samples received. In any case, because we always put quality before timeliness, we implement strict quality controls at every step of sample processing.
