Article summary

Overview

As we use robots to extract gDNA, we have specific requirements in relation to sample size, storage, packaging and shipment of animal tissue samples. Our ability to process your samples is dependent on their condition when they arrive at our lab. These requirements will depend to some extent on the organism as well as the tissue type. We’ve outlined general instructions below, but if you are in any doubt please contact us and we can assist you based on our experience from processing a diverse range of organisms and tissue sources.

Important
Please contact us in advance if there’s any possibility the animal samples you are sending may contain pathogenic viruses, bacteria, pests or parasites.

Please note that different tissue types - for example blood and muscle - cannot be submitted in the same plate, as our DNA extraction methods are tissue dependent.
